The 21st February
The 21st February is a red letter day in our national life.On this day in 1952,the brave sons of our motherland laid down their lives to protect the interest of our mother tongue. Since 1999,UNESCO declared this day as ‘International Mother Language Day’. This day is now observed in most of the world. The teaching of the day is that we all should respect the mother language of others. Our mother language is our unique possession.The day has historical background. On this day,everybody,wakes up early and crowds before the martyr’s monument barefooted just to offer their profound respect to the martyrs. The govt. and different organization arrange programs to celebrate the day. Meeting and seminars are hold on for focusing the day. Special prayers are also held for the salvation of the martyr’s soul. The day is a public holiday.
